03/27/17 Where's the Progress?

Hello everybody!!! :)
Well... this week was full of work. I am so tired. Im tuckered out man. So we worked so hard this week. We had a meeting this tuesday with our Zone and our Zone leaders were basiclly telling us all that we need to work harder... so we did. Sister Costa and I talked to soooo many new people.... 219 to be exact. We also taught so many lessons. We have alot of new people to teach. We also invited a bunch of people to church... sadly... no one came. We also met some less actives, but they didnt come either. Its really sad how these people can know the truth and then leave... and not want to return... but we a re gonna continue to try and help them :)
Anyways... so our teaching pool is more like a kiddie pool... we have found basically no one that is actually interested in the gospel. We have a couple people, but they just like to talk about religion and Deus, but not want to learn more about Christs´church... so thats sad... but we are still searchin :)
Anyways... so sorry, but literally basically nothing happened this week. We worked really hard and met some people.. but no one is really firm yet. We have one lady named Sandy and another named Antonia. Sandy is really the only person that seems semi interested... but only semi.. she also lives on the complete other side of the city.. so its a whole days journey to walk there. :P She is cool, she has a son and lives with her mom. I think she has like 19 years.. not quite sure though :P But she liked the lesson on the Plan of Salvação. We are gonna visit her tomorrow.
Well....... I dont have anything else to say. The mission is real hard... and is a little sad to see people rejecting Christ, but I am gonna continue and keep smiling :) Also making ugly faces cuz thats always a good time :)
Então, eu amo vocês e eu espero que vocês vão ter uma semana TOP!!!! (Have a great week)

03/20/17 Will I stay or Will I go?

Hello everyone!!!!
Welp. this week has been pretty good. Met some new people, and also lost some too. We met a lady named Ene and she enjoyed our lesson a lot and said shes gonna come sunday :) Felt the spirit real strong during the lesson with her. :) We also met a guy named Israel. Sister Costa made a contact with him a couple weeks ago on the street and he decided to come today :) He lives real close to the chapel, but will be here for only 6 months, but he is a possibility!! :) He enjoyed church a lot yesterday and he said he'll come again and to the activity that we are goin to have on friday :) So thats exciting!!! :)
News with Rose, she said that she doesnt wanna talk to us anymore cuz she already has her church and doesnt want to trouble us. We tried explaining to her that all we do is talk to people, thats why we are here..... but she doesnt wanna talk anymore... so thats sad. We gave her a Book of Mormon so hopefully if she reads it a spark will light. We also gave her a part to read so she wont have to search for something.... hopefully she will read it and pray like we asked her. But who knows what will happen. Maybe we are only here in her life right now to introduce it and other missionaries are gonna help her progress...

But this week was a great time for us to get closer and more comfortable with the members. We had a bunch of activities and were able to talk and play some games, it was real fun :) I have a pic of some of the members. The Family in the pic is a family that is moving to Portugal. They are so fun. The 3 little girls and the one taller girl in all pink are the kids.  then the parents are Luiz and Flávia Gustavo. They´re great. Gonna miss them a bunch. But yeah I love the members here. they are so much fun and are more like friends than members.
Anyways... so we have been traveling a lot to Londrina for conferences and meetings, so we havent been able to do much work in our area... its kinda annoying, but whatevs. We have a couple people to teach, Israel, Ene, Aurora, Vicent, and I think thats it, but only really Israel is a possobility... everyone else just likes to hear messages about God... not about Christs Church or how it was Restored.... everyone here is very firm in the church they have or they dont wanna go to church.... so its very difficult here to actually find someone genuinly interested about the Church.... but we are trying still.
Well, thats basically all that happened this week. We had a conference of hte Zones, or just 2 Zones on Thursday, it was real fun, but really only this, we also met some friends while working one day. Leila and Lucas. They love us. We always see them and they always recognize us :) Theyre so cute :) So yeah :)
Nothing much. Sister Costa made 7 months on friday!!! Woohoo only 11 more!! :P and Im gonna make 8 on the 27th!! So exciting :)
Welll, muito obrigada for all of your love and support and for reading my boring emails :P Sorry, I thought the mission was gonna be filled with crazy things every week, but its basically the same thing over and over agin, especially when the work isnt goin to well :P Well Love you all and hope you all have a great week :) Keep Smiling!!!!!
Love Sister Ferguson

My district wanted to see me with straight hair so I straightened it for one day.

03/13/17 Well They´re Hot And They´re Cold, They´re Yes And They´re No

Hoo man..... this week was such a roller coaster. We met some people that seemed promising and then they failed, then we met some more people that seemed promising but they failed too....... and so on and so forth.
So our first fail was the Family that has people that all start with M with Ms. Monica the Mom. They said they were gonna come to church, so on Sunday we headed over there and they weren't home. The daughter was and she said that they left.... so they didn't come to church.
Also we found another family. The dad's name is Vicent and he is really interested in the church. It's his wife and their daughter Maria Tereza who are not. The wife is real catholic and she said she isn't ready to be trying out other churches, but Vicent was really interested in our message and we are going to return to talk to them on Wednesday :) So that's exciting.... hopefully this one works out.
Also, yesterday we had a real cool experience. So Saturday there was a homeless man that walked into the church building while we and some other members were there for Almoço and to clean the capela. He came in and he just asked if he could call his wife. Jaredy, one of the memebrs helped him call his wife and bought a ticket for him to leave tomorrow night or Sunday night. The man, Joel, was so thankful and on Sunday he came to church. He came here to Cornélio from São Paulo and had lost his money or he didn't receive his money from his job, so he didn't have anything. He had been living on the street for 19 days and his phone was out of credits, so he found the church and recognized it from in São Paulo and he had already talked to missionaries before. So yeah. That was pretty freakin' cool :) And Sunday he came to church and learned so much, received O Livro de Mórmon and he said that he is going to get baptized when he gets home. It was pretty amazing. He is so great and was so grateful for the opportunity he had to be in the worst possible place and then have Christ help him through His church :) I am so excited for him. And Jaredy got his number so when he returns he said he is going to call Jaredy to tell him how he is doing :)
So yesterday was pretty great :) After church not too much, cuz that's when we went to see Monica and decided to cut her from our teaching pool cuz she is just not interested. So that was sad.
So after that we didn't know what to do, so we wandered around a little and I felt like we should talk to this one lady I met in front of her house the other day. So we went there and... hoo man. We basically baptized her in the moment. :) She loves the church and understnads and believes that this church really is the Church of Jesus Christ, she is just so dedicated in her church that she is scared to leave. So we invited her to church Sunday and she said she'll have to see. We were there for so long talking to her. She asked so many questions and I know that we aren't supposed to do that, but the Spirit was so strong and she was just loving every second of it. So we are going to return to her place everyday this week to talk to her and little more and to try and help her with her fear. :) She is so amazing, her name is Rose by the way :P
So yeah. We meet people that seem very interested, but then they drop the next visit. We hope that Rose will stay interested and will want to make a visit to feel the Spirit even more :)
Well I love this gospel and I am so happy to be here in Brasil to preach it to the people here. I know that this church truly is the same Church that Jesus established when He was here on the earth. I know that this Gospel is the true gospel of Christ. I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to be a missionary and preach the truth to God's children :)
I love you all and I hope you all have a great week and are able to find ways to share the gospel too with other people around you. It is literally a gift from God :)
Love you all and wish that you have a great week!!!!

Love, Sister Ferguson

03/06/17 Another Day In The Mission...

Hello!!!!! Well, this week was pretty normal. So I'm with Sister Costa, who is a real great missionary. She knows how to talk to poeple how to make them feel welcome :)
Well, this week we had a couple days taken from us because of our need to go to Londrina for our district meetings, so we lost Tuesday and also Wednesday. So we only had 3 days to work and Sunday to give lessons and talk to peeps. We have found quite a lot of people to talk to this week. Yesterday we found a family that lives real close to us and their names all start with M, except the Dad, his name is Rodrigues. I dont know how to spell the other names :P Miguel, Maurice? and Manidhskhlkhle..... something like that :P So we taught them, and they said that they would come to church Sunday!!!! They are new here in Cornélio and dont know where anything is, so now they know where to find salvation so that's cool XD But man they are real cool :) Real excited to teach them :)
Also, we are talking to some pesquisadores from like 8 months ago. They have been meeting with the missionaries for forever. Their names are José and Suedi. Suedi has a brother that is the patriarch in the church and a nephew that is a bishop, so she already knows a little about the church. We invited them to make another visit to the church, but José had to work in the morning, so that was sad, but we are gonna talk to them this week :) José is a member of another church, but he doesnt really like it and has been looking for another religion. He liked his church when the other missionaries were here, so he didn't want to be baptized, but Suedi didnt like her church and wanted to be baptized, but right before they were gonna baptize her they were transferred and there werent missionaries there for 2 months, so she never was. Now she has a church she likes and doesn't want to get baptized. So they switched. Sorry if that doesn't make sense... I forgot how to grammar in english :P
Anyways, so we found them and also another family, Tatiana, André, and Mateus. They are so good :) They are really interested and are, or were willing to come to church, but they had to leave cuz Tatiana's mom had a surgery and was living alone, so they left to go help her and they won't be back till....... ugh....  April 24th. So we will be gone by then, if we leave this transfer. So that's sad... but they said when they return they are gonna kep taking lessons... so that's a bumber. We also made Mateus a cake for his 9th bday Saturday, but they weren't home and they later called us that day to tell us what happened. So that was sad, but at least we got to eat some cake :)
Also, I tried giving a lesson in english... man was it hard. There is a member here that is learning to speak english, her name is Gisela. She's great :) We had Almoço at her house Saturday and I gave the message, first in portuguese, then she and Costa gave one in English to me, cuz they both can speak english, and then I tried, but couldn't do it. It's so weird now to talk about the gospel in english. I can write, but to talk..... it's real weird :P It's like only a portuguese thing.... so yeah.

And yeah... that's basically all that has hapened this week. I straightened my hair this week cuz some Elders randomly called me and asked what my hair looks like straight..... so I took a pic and showed them.... cuz I was not gonna leave the house lookin' like Dora.... mmmMmmm not today. OH while making some contacts the other day and bate-ing some portas, we met this dog that kept following us. I named him Spot. Real original right? But when you say it with a Brasilian accent its like Spotchy, so its cooler :P Got some pics with him. Also met some teen girls who freaked cuz I speak english. They were literally screaming cuz I am an American. They kept saying, Man I can't believe that there is an American in my house!! AAAHHHH... it was pretty crazy, and annoying, but that is the life of Sister Ferguson.
Sooooo... yeah :) I have some other pics of some stuff, like Costa, Spot(chy), a big grasshopper that I saw at the Rodoviária in Cornélio, a sign I saw that said Washington while it was pouring rain, so clearly I needed to take a pic and I forgot what else I attached.. but yeah :) This week was good. Got lots of work done and I am excited to work still :)
Well, thank you all for your love and support and for reading my letters, even though they are not the most interesting :P Love you all and hope you all have a great week :) I am definitley learning how to be patient this ransfer so that could be something that we can learn together.... patience with everything... literally everything. So just have a good patient week and I will talk to you all next week!!!!

Com Muito Amor,
Sister Ferguson

02/27/17 Well, Well, Well.... We Meet Again Londrina, Ala 2

Hello everybody :)
Well, this week has been pretty strange. So we had transfers, which we were supposed to leave the same day to go to Cornélio again, but it's really expensive to travel from there to Londrina, so we asked if we could stay in Londrina until the reunião do distrito, district meeting, thursday. The head people said we could so we stayed there and had divisions with the sisters there. Sister Melo and my homie Sister Whitehead :) We did normal missionary work, contacts, lessons, talking to less actives and recent converts and yeah, it was cool :) Then we tried to see my converts, Gabriel and Niro, but they weren't home and their phone numbers were wrong in the sister's phone for some reason, so I couldn't get a hold of them, but it's all good :)
So that was our week in Londrina. Met some new people and made some new investigators for the sisters there, which they went to church with them Sunday :) Exciting :)
Then on Thursday while getting ready for our Reunião do Distrito, the sisters said that their reunião is on Friday.... so we called an Elder which we thought was our new district leader if it was Thursday or friday and he said friday... so we stayed in Londrina for one more day and worked with the sisters again. Then Friday we had our Zone Meeting and met our new Distrct Leader and yeah. We still don't know where we are going to meet for our meetings this week, but we are gonna figure that out soon :)
So yeah. That's been our week. Nothing very exciting. I am tired and wanting to work, so I guess that's good :) I love this gospel and am still excited to be here on a mission :) I know that I need to be here to talk to every person here, even people I talk to for one second on the street. They area ll put into my life for a reason. The mission is hard, but I am learning so much about life, myself and the gospel here :) I know that this church is truly the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth today and that only through this gospel can we return to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus again.
Thank you for all your love and support. I love you all and I hope that you guys have a great week :)
Com Amor,
Sister Ferguson
